Vanessa Bruno's flat in Paris

Last Sunday, The Times magazine featured the Paris flat of one of my favourite French designers Vanessa Bruno (check this gorgeous video with Lou Doillon). Her flat is located in Le Marais, Paris' cool, creative area and like her fashion line, her flat reflects Bruno's boho, feminine personality...I love this space. Like Helena Christensen's NYC flat, you can feel that it's a space Bruno decorated herself with things she really likes and she didn't hire any top end interior designer to get the right look. Blending vintage finds with a few modern touches, her home feels welcoming...like the flat of the girl's next door, except that the girl's next door is heading a fabulous fashion line ;-

The Sunday Times kindly featured our Paulistano chair in Get the Look so I thought I would make my own...
1. Eclipse table lamp: £74.99 (but I love the way Living Etc styled it last year using it as a pendant light...we ended up with a vast number of customers asking for the Eclipse pendant light..it doesn't exist but with a bit of DIY, you can make yours),
2. Pure linen pleated cushion cover: £36.74
3. Moebius coffee table: £460
4. The Old Oak's Last Dream print: £149.99
5. La Tropezienne tote leather bag: £210 (messenger bag would work too)
6. Paulistano chair: £1130 but the version with the fabric cover would work as well and is slightly more affordable. I also love the gold version of the Pelicano rocking chair, which would be incredibly cosy and spot on!

Virgule table by Helene Eliot-Foussat

I met Interior Designer Helene Eliot-Foussat almost 4 or 5 years ago when we were both exhibiting at a Christmas French fair in Notting Hill. Failing to see enough customers to keep us busy, we happily spent the day chatting to each other, munching on French food sold by the stand opposite us.
At the time, I was in awe with her Virgule coffee table so imagine my joy when Helene approached us recently to make her gorgeous table to our design-savvy customers.

Made of Corian®, an expensive but incredibly smooth and high-quality material, I could not stop admiring how beautiful, versatile and well-designed the Virgule coffee table was.
A contemporary take on the Ying-Yang symbol, which in Chinese philosophy is used to decribe how seemingly opposing forces are interconnected and interdependent in the natural world, the Virgule coffee table is a great piece of design which can be used as two separate tables, indoor and outdoor.

Camping by Normann Copenhagen

Taking glamping (glamour camping) to the next level of Luxing (luxurious camping), Normann Copenhagen is launching the exclusive Camping series designed by Jesper K. Thomsen.
A collection that includes a chair, table, stool and daybed and consists of chairs, table, stool and daybed in moulded beech wood.

Jesper K. Thomsen explains: 'The archetypical camping equipment has been my inspiration. The design has a recognition factor that brings the thoughts over to leisure and togetherness, that many think are typical of camping. I like the thought of bringing outdoor pursuits indoor or, perharps more correctly, freedom into the living room. At the same time, the icon, camping furniture, has been refined in my interpretation. Against all odds, I have been successful in making the chairs and the daybed without frames beneath the seat, which makes part of its unique expression.'

CAMPING is part of New Danish Modern - Normann Copenhagen's furniture collection, which combines traditional Danish crafts and manufacture with modern designs.

We love this video that shows how the Camping series is made...It was recorded at Kvist – one of denmark’s oldest wooden furniture factories dating back to 1896 and it's pretty cool and amazing how the series is made.
